Meet Squire Broel

June 22, 12pm - 1pm
American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center
4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016

Meet the artist featured in the JRA glass case at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center. Squire Broel will be giving a talk about his artistic journey, practice and interpretation in front of the JRA glass case which will have some of his pieces. Then he will tour the outdoor Sculpture Garden where a selection of his life-sized to monumentally-sized totemic bronze sculptures are installed.

Squire Broel spends a majority of his time working in Walla Walla, Washington.  The isolation of his location allows him to develop his own visual voice that continues to gain attention outside the Northwest.  His practice includes sculpture, painting, drawing and curated experiences.  Broel received his BA from Seattle Pacific University.  He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in Canada, China, Indonesia and Vietnam.  His work is in numerous public and private collections including the Brooklyn Museum, Los Angeles County Museum, Whitman College and the City of Walla Walla.
